چکیده
The occurrence and removal patterns of 24 antimicrobial agents resistant determinants namely 6 antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) 2 mobile genetic elements (MGEs), the fecal indicator E. coli were investigated in three full-scale wastewater treatment plants. Their waterlines biosolids lines (including secondary based on both granular activated sludge) sampled monthly throughout one year. Samples analyzed by means LC-MS/MS, qPCR cell enumeration, respectively. influence rainfall, temperature, turbidity aforementioned was assessed through statistical linear mixed models. Ten (macrolides, fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines, sulfonamides) commonly found influent concentrations 0.1-2 µg L?1, predominant ARGs ermB sul1 (6.4 5.9 log10 mL?1 respectively). Warmer temperatures slightly reduced gene whilst increasing that produced an uneven effect across Rainfall diluted (-0.25 logs, p < 0.001) antimicrobials but not genes. absolute abundance (1.86 logs average) (2.31 average). also partly removed, 8 them still detectable after treatment, accumulated biosolids. with resembling those influent. No significant differences antimicrobials, observed when comparing conventional sludge aerobic sludge. Irrespective type significantly hydraulic loads caused rainfall (-0.35 per ? average daily flow 0.01), decreased (-0.02 ?1 nephelometric turbidy unit 0.05) .

Textile wastewater treatment: aerobic granular sludge vs activated sludge systems.
Textile effluents are characterised by high content of recalcitrant compounds and are often discharged (together with municipal wastewater to increase their treatability) into centralized wastewater treatment plants with a complex treatment scheme. This paper reports the results achieved adopting a granular sludge system (sequencing batch biofilter granular reactor - SBBGR) to treat mixed munic...

This advanced nutrient removal process can reduce footprint up to 75% and energy up to 50% when compared to conventional activated sludge systems. One of the defining characteristics of the granule is rapid settling which in turn allows for an increase in the biomass concentration. The granules are comprised of true biomass and do not require carriers. The layered microbial community that forms...

In recent years, a significant part of research on wastewater treatment has focussed on development of compact systems. Wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) can be designed compact when biomass is maintained in the system without the use of conventional settling tanks as in flocculated activated sludge systems. Examples are developments in the field of Membrane BioReactors, Biological Aerated Fil...
متن کاملComparison and Analysis of Membrane Fouling between Flocculent Sludge Membrane Bioreactor and Granular Sludge Membrane Bioreactor
The goal of this study is to investigate the effect of inoculating granules on reducing membrane fouling. In order to evaluate the differences in performance between flocculent sludge and aerobic granular sludge in membrane reactors (MBRs), two reactors were run in parallel and various parameters related to membrane fouling were measured. The results indicated that specific resistance to the fo...
